Bumanik : Good Mining Practice – Safety Aspect Period 2021

Proudly, Bumanik has participated in a program given by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) regarding the Implementation of Good Mining Practice for Mining Safety. With points of assessment and application from ESDM, Bumanik is now one of the Pilot Companies for the implementation of Good Mining Practice, especially for Nickel Ore Mining Companies in the IUP OP Category in the Central Sulawesi Province Region.

This program is implemented based on 4 Circular Letters from Director of Engineering and the Environment from ESDM which contains:

  1. Fulfillment of Mineral and Coal (Minerba) Mining Safety Data Reporting Obligations
  2. Filling in the Initial Form for the Implementation of Mining Safety Management Assessment Verification
  3. Performance Assessment Form Application of Good Mining Practice
  4. Mining Safety Management Assessment Verification 2021

With the second circular on the point above, out of 5,574 Mineral and Coal mining companies in Indonesia, only 1,340 companies responded to participate in filling out the initial administration of the assessment. With 414 companies submitting administrative requirements on time, selected 173 companies that meet the requirements of the initial mining safety assessment.

The Initial Assessment of Phase 1 is carried out based on list below.

With the final result, only 30 mining companies with selected to proceed for Phase 2.

By completing the Phase 1 Assessment, Bumanik has also carried out the Phase 2 Assessment process which focuses on the Field Assessment started on July 13th, 2021, until July 16th, 2021 with the Assessment Team and Bumanik Team as follows.

The agenda for Phase 2 is as follows.

  1. Assessment Suitability Aspects of Planning and Risk Management
  2. Assessment Field Aspects for 11 Areas (Hauling Road, Stockpile, Dumping Area, Workshop, Harbor, Office, Mess, Clinic, Laboratory, and BCC Hoarding)
  3. Assessment Internal Audit SMKP Period 2020
  4. Closing and notify the result of Recommendation and Improvement Suggestions from Assessment Team and Expert Team

The results of the Phase 2 Assessment will be announced in September 2021, with the award recipient categories based on the “Kontrak Karya” (KK) Category, Perjanjian Karya Perusahaan Pertambangan Batubara (PKP2B) Category, and IUP OP Category. With zero accidents from the end of Phase 2 to September 2021 will also be the assessment of the final result reward.
