Celebration of 74th Indonesia’s Independence Day 2019

Celebration of 74th Indonesia’s Independence Day 2019

After last year’s success of holding an Independence Day ceremony, as well as participating in a healthy walk, much to the ovation from local people, Bumanik took a step forward this year in invigorating the spirit of Indonesia’s 74th birthday. The sequence of events still began with the customary ceremony with staff from PT Djava Berkah Mineral (DBM), Bumanik mining contractor, lining up side-by-side with Bumanik staff. The ceremony was led by Bumanik Site Manager, Mr. Alwansyah, who served as the Ceremony Inspector. All participants were singing the national anthem right after the red and white flag were hoisted under the bright sun.

In the ceremony, the winners of best employee award were also announced and coronated. Mr. Akkas (Survey Foreman), Mr. Destianus (Health, Safety, and Environment Crew), Mrs. Sumarni (HRGA Crew) are the deserving recipients of the award from Bumanik, while DBM boasted 3 employees in Mr. Andi Dedi (Excavator Operator), Mr. Wan Diamana (Production Foreman) and Mr. Lanang Hariadi (Dump Truck Driver). The aforementioned employees fully merit the award for their compliance and consistent application of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) as well as their knowledge on that particular field.

“We support this Blood Donation program 100%, because it is beneficial for everyone involved. This blood of ours can save many lives out there, and it is not just the recipients that receive benefit, but also us as the donors.” 10.00 AM was when the fun began as staff from both companies entered several competitions such as cracker-eating (makan kerupuk), table tennis, marble race, and sack race. Children of Bumanik staff also participated in the said contests.

“The reason we invited our staff’s family members is because we wanted to meet in person those who have been supporting our staff at home. We wanted them to feel welcomed, to feel that they are also a huge part of Bumanik’s success because without them supporting from home, be it the wives, husbands, or children, we would not be here right now. We are all one big family.” said Mr. Alit Saripudin, Bumanik Support Manager. He, then, further emphasized,”Now that we have successfully held Independence Day event for second year running, we aim to outdo the previous two for next year. We want to share the spirit of Independence Day with our employees and community because we want to strengthen the bond with them. Remember, that the foundation of this nation was laid down by unity.”
