Shrimp Farming Harvesting

Shrimp Farming Harvesting

On April 27th 2020, PT Bumanik harvested its shrimp farming result from the ponds in its Jetty area. Shrimp farming has been PT Bumanik’s primary CSR activity since the middle of 2019. The objective of this program is to build a pilot project for shrimp farming and in the process might encourage other shrimp farmers to follow. This idea was born in the wake of arising doubts from shrimp farmers due to PT Bumanik’s hectic activities at its Solonsa Jetty. Mr. Laode Muhammad Ichsan, widely known as Mr. Coy, PT Bumanik’s External Relation Superintendent confirmed, “There were doubts from the shrimp farmers at our jetty as our activities was said to be disruptive towards the shrimp farming and cultivation. However, we have committed since the beginning that we always strive for the betterment in every aspect of the local villager’s life, and shrimp farming is no exception.”

Over 532 kgs of Vannamei (Whiteleg Shrimp) were harvested which turned out to be a hit. Such amount reflects more of PT Bumanik’s commitment to contribute to society than investment as stated by Mr. Yul Widiasentosa, PT Bumanik’s General Manager, “Vannamie shrimp farming is the livelihood of local community. Ergo, it is our duty to help contribute to that in any way possible.”
